MAGICAL NIGHTS UNDER THE STARS: CINESPIA AT HOLLYWOOD FOREVER CEMETERY PRESENTS "D.E.B.S."
The Hollywood Forever Cemetery, renowned for its unique blend of history and contemporary culture, becomes a vibrant hub of activity during the Cinespia events. This year, the experience was nothing short of magical as people gathered to watch films under the stars, creating an atmosphere of unity and joy. The scene at Hollywood Forever Cemetery was breathtaking. As twilight descended, the cemetery transformed into a lively social space. Attendees, sprawled on blankets and lawn chairs, shared laughter and conversations, all eagerly anticipating the night's feature film. The ambiance was electric, filled with the anticipation of a shared cinematic experience.
This June, in honor of Pride Month, Cinespia hosted a special screening of the impactful LGBTQ+ film "D.E.B.S." The choice of movie was a perfect fit for the celebration, drawing a diverse crowd that embodied the spirit of inclusivity and pride. The sense of community was palpable as everyone came together to celebrate love and acceptance.
Before the screening, the event featured an engaging talk with special guests Sara Foster (@sarafoster), Meagan Good (@meagangood), and Angela Robinson (@angelarinstagram). For Meagan Good, "D.E.B.S." holds a special place in her heart. She shared, “It was one of my beginning career movies, and it in time became so important thanks to all the crowd and the people who went to see it. Even if the director, Angela Robinson, said a joke that was a flop, it was not a flop.” Their discussion, focusing on the importance of representation and the power of film in shaping cultural narratives, added a meaningful layer to the evening. Their insights resonated with the audience, setting the stage for the emotional journey that "D.E.B.S." would take them on.
As the night unfolded, a stage near the projection area came alive with music and dance. Sets by @ajcouplestherapy and @chromequeen had young attendees dancing with abandon, their silhouettes moving gracefully against the backdrop of the evening sky. The spontaneous dance party added an element of festivity, enhancing the overall experience and making the night even more memorable.
Food vendors lined the pathways, offering an array of delicious snacks and pizzas. The tantalizing aromas wafted through the air, tempting everyone to indulge. A pizza stand from @quarantinepizzaco provided tasty slices, while complimentary @smartsweets satisfied sweet cravings. The sapphic squad goals free photo booth, co-presented with @lapride, allowed attendees to capture fun moments, adding an interactive and engaging touch to the event.
Cinespia at Hollywood Forever Cemetery is more than just a movie night; it’s a celebration of community, culture, and the joy of shared experiences. This year's Pride Month event was a testament to the power of coming together to celebrate diversity and love.
